And now for something completely different

Around the start of October I started taking Bobbin Lace classes. I started by making a lizard, then I moved on to bookmarks of which I made 2 different ones. My last project is the one I am extremely proud of, a butterfly. This took many hours to make but I think it is well worth the effort. Thanks for looking :)

Swaps for Regionals

Back in November 2010 our Regional Training day was held at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Lots of fun, make and takes and excellent information was shared by all. As usual I went overboard making my swaps as you want to have enough for anyone. What I found interesting is that my upline (at the time) actually put in an appearance, instead of attending the Craft Show which she has done for the preceding 3 years. She managed to make 20 to my 95. Not bad. Also, totally ignored me the whole day. (Oh, well, you get that).
Anyway, as you can see by the photos the pattern of my cards was the same throughout but I used the new InColors. I matched up Concord Crush with Peach Parfait and Very Vanilla. Then Pear Pizazz with Blushing Bride and Whisper White. The stamp set is Punch Potpourri.

Because of my enthusiasm, I came home with about 40 card faces which I then turned into cards. As far as I am concerned decorating the card on the inside is just as important as the outside so I have enclosed a photo so you can get the idea of what I did to them all.

Another copy of Michelle's creations

Another one of Michelle Zindorf's beautiful creations. This time a Christmas card. Now, whilst I do not celebrate Christmas I can appreciate the work that has gone into Michelle's card, and seeing as Maggie wanted Christmas cards I made 2 of these for her.
Card Stock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy and Old Olive.  
Ink: Old Olive, Whisper White and Not Quite Navy. 
You can't see it properly in this card but there are actually dual layers of the Whisper White, which I think is very effective. Hope you like it :)

I'm a Zindorfian

Today I would like to share with you one of the cards that I made using the tutorial provided by a US Stampin' Up demonstrator, Michelle Zindorf.
This lovely lady provides tutorials of her work for all to see and try their hand at. I just don't know where she comes up with her ideas but her cards are fantastic.
List of items used are ~
Stamps: Branch out, En Francais.
Card: Basic Black, Whisper White
Inks: Basic Black, Old Olive, Apricot Appeal, Bashful Blue, Creamy Caramel, Going Gray and Chocolate Chip.

Another card for Maggie. Her Grandson's birthday card.

Hello again, friends. It's not a really good photo. This card was made for a 3 year old. I used the Inspired by Nature stamp to do the long grass, the railway track roller wheel and the train was actually a patterned paper from my local shop ~ Memories on the Murray. Used Old Olive, Bashful Blue and Basic Black inks on Whisper White card stock which was bordered by Bashful Blue on Real Rust (I think). Anyway hope you like it :)

Nice Box for biscuits etc.

Made this box sometime last year. It's like one of those cake boxes you get from a bakery except this one has got the clear bit in the middle so you can see what is inside. I used a pretty designer paper from my local shop and cut around so it was positioned just right. I think the blue ribbon sets it off just nicely. Hope you like it :)

Earlier this year, my friend Maggie, gave me a list of people's names and dates for cards she wanted made. Heaps of birthday cards and then around 20 Christmas cards. This card was made from a pattern that I got from UStamp (I think, it's been that long). Anyway I hope you like it :)

Jacqui's Mini Note Card Purse

Jacqui Craig is a guest designer for this round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends. I must say that although I enjoyed making Jacqui's purse and cards, I will not be making it again in a hurry.
The only addition I made to the project was to add a length of dark blue satin ribbon around the edge of the little purse, as to me it looked much nicer and finished the project off better. Not much more that I can say about this project though. But you be the judge!

Stamp With Us Recipe Challenge

This week over at Stamp With Us, the girls posted a recipe challenge where had to use:

No patterned paper
2 ribbons
2 stamps.

The colors I chose to use were Old Olive and Razzleberry. I also used Old Olive ribbon and layered this with a (as close as I could get it) "razzleberry" colored ribbon. I clear embossed two butterflies from the Great Friends stamp set on Whisper White and the sentiment is from the stamp set called Soft Summer from our Spring Mini Catalogue.
I always love to decorate the inside of my cards as well because it is as important as the outside.

What a fun time we are having this UStamp. Lots of projects to fill our time making, lots of chatting going on and lovely ladies from all over the world to meet.

Today I am showcasing 2 projects posted by Tracey Old who is the Dream Team Member from New Zealand. The first is Tracey's Coffee Treat Box - this is sooooo easy to make and looks so effective. You don't have to use it for coffee only but as a gift box for chocolates, candles, the list is endless.
As you can see I made this in light blue bazzill with a designer paper from Francheville. On the belly band I have added a little decoration in the form of two clear embossed butterflies from the Good Friends Stamp Set.


The project that I completed today is Tracey's Card Purse. This is very quick and easy to make. The main color is Tempting Turquoise with a touch of Cameo Coral. The dsp is and SU retired pack which I can't remember the name of. Once again it can be used to put some cards and envelopes in or perhaps some other little gift.
