My Blog Award

My friend, Sue, has awarded me a lovely blog award.
Ok, the rules for this award is that I share 5 things I am addicted to and then pass the award on to 5 other lovely blogs.

1. I am totally addicted to Stampin' Up. Absolutely love the products and the colors are fabulous.
2. I am addicted to playing Monk Werks on Facebook.
3. I love doing workshops and seeing the joy and satisfaction on my ladies faces when they learn something.
4. I love to spend Tuesdays with the ladies down at Memories on the Murray, creating to my hearts content. Or not!
5. I love learning new off the page projects but am not yet game enough to try designing projects myself.

The blogs I want to award are to some very talented ladies. Please pop over and have a look at their very inspiring blogs.

Jacqui's Mini Note Card Purse

Jacqui Craig is a guest designer for this round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends. I must say that although I enjoyed making Jacqui's purse and cards, I will not be making it again in a hurry.
The only addition I made to the project was to add a length of dark blue satin ribbon around the edge of the little purse, as to me it looked much nicer and finished the project off better. Not much more that I can say about this project though. But you be the judge!

Stamp With Us Recipe Challenge

This week over at Stamp With Us, the girls posted a recipe challenge where had to use:
No patterned paper
2 ribbons
2 stamps.

The colors I chose to use were Old Olive and Razzleberry. I also used Old Olive ribbon and layered this with a (as close as I could get it) "razzleberry" colored ribbon. I clear embossed two butterflies from the Great Friends stamp set on Whisper White and the sentiment is from the stamp set called Soft Summer from our Spring Mini Catalogue.
I always love to decorate the inside of my cards as well because it is as important as the outside.

More UStamp Creations.

What a fun time we are having this UStamp. Lots of projects to fill our time making, lots of chatting going on and lovely ladies from all over the world to meet.

Today I am showcasing 2 projects posted by Tracey Old who is the Dream Team Member from New Zealand. The first is Tracey's Coffee Treat Box - this is sooooo easy to make and looks so effective. You don't have to use it for coffee only but as a gift box for chocolates, candles, the list is endless.
As you can see I made this in light blue bazzill with a designer paper from Francheville. On the belly band I have added a little decoration in the form of two clear embossed butterflies from the Good Friends Stamp Set.

The project that I completed today is Tracey's Card Purse. This is very quick and easy to make. The main color is Tempting Turquoise with a touch of Cameo Coral. The dsp is and SU retired pack which I can't remember the name of. Once again it can be used to put some cards and envelopes in or perhaps some other little gift.

Just click on the UStamp with Dawn and Friends button on the left hand side of my blog. This will take you to the site where you can learn more about what the site entails and can join up and create lovely projects from ladies all over the world.

Until next time, have a good day or night where ever you may be!

I wanted to share with you my interpretation of Becky's Notes & Treats that she posted on UStamp with Dawn and Friends. I find out about UStamp please click on the button on the left hand side of the screen.

The recipe for this project was - Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, Whisper White.

Sue's Slider Box

Today, I thought I would post my friend, Sue's, Slider Box and cards that were started at a workshop on Monday night and finished during the week. Anyway she brought them in to show me on Tuesday and I couldn't resist taking photos of her creations.
I absolutely love the card on the right with the little flowers. What she has done is to stamp onto her card stock (I think it is a background stamp) and then individually colored everything in and to top it off she has gone over every bit with Glossy Accents so that it really stands out.
If you scroll down to My Tuesday Girls you will see a photo of Sue with the other girls.

Well done, Sue. I will pass on any comments made to Sue. I am sure she would appreciate the encouragement.

Wedding card

My friend Isabel married her love, Damien, yesterday. Yes, on a Tuesday! Anyway this is the card I made for them. The basic card can be found here. I enjoyed making it. There was a lot of cutting involved and I am so glad that I have my Cricut Expressions machine to do it with.
The base is Whisper White with the rest of the card being in tones of So Saffron and Lilac with Dark Purple for the wedding dress. Unfortunately I couldn't take a good photo of the inside, however, I put a little bride and groom in there and Orchid Opulence around the inside of the card as well. I also hand made the envelope out a sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock.
Sorry, but the photo doesn't do the card justice.

The wedding was held at the Secret Chapel at the Inverbrackie Cemetery. It really is a magical place, so don't cringe and say What the! I will post some photos later. Then the reception was held at Rydges South Park on the corner of South and West Terraces in Adelaide. From the 6th floor, with its fully glassed windows you could see the fireworks that went off at 2100 because of the Royal Adelaide Show. Also the lights of the rides especially the Ferris Wheel.

Anyway, have a good day or night where ever you are!

No Excuse

I have really no excuse for not posting other than that I have been extremely busy. I didn't even get to my local shop on Saturday for the Memories On The Murray Sale. I was in Adelaide all weekend enjoying a spiritual banquet. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I attended our annual 3 day convention which was held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

My friend, Maggie, asked me to make a card for her partner. This is a new medium for me - making male cards but I had some help in that I cased the idea from Donna's blog. Thanks, Donna, for the inspiration. Go and check out Donna's blog, she is a very talented and creative lady. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the inside of the card to show you. I always decorate the inside of my cards because I think that is as important as the front of the card.

Please let me know what you think!

And have a nice day or night where ever you may be.

My Tuesday Girls

Let me introduce you all to my Tuesday girls. Well, they are not actually mine, but you know what I mean!
In the first two photos we have the Awesome Foursome - (L to R) Sue, Joyce, Lyn & Barb.
Next to that is Jo & Viv together and then Wendy and Glad.
Because Margaret is taking a well earned break visiting her family in Katherine and jetting also up to Darwin, we have had Anja filling in and keeping us entertained. Margaret will be back next week and very refreshed to receive the hard time we will give her next Tuesday. I found a photo taken at our retreat of Margaret. She is wearing the blue top.
I think you can understand why I love spending Tuesday with the girls especially the Awesome Foursome.

Until next time, have a great day or night where ever you may be!

Party for Kids with Cancer 2

As previously mentioned, my friend, Kirsty, held a Trivia/Auction night last Friday night to raise money for Kids with Cancer. Here is the second lot of cards that I made for the Auction -

As you can see, I used a variety of stamps, a variety of techniques, papers and ribbons.
I really enjoyed making this set and will make some more in different colors for future fundraisers.

Until next time, have a great day or night where ever you may be!

Party for Kids with Cancer

On Friday night I attended a Trivia/Auction night which my friend, Kirsty, mainly organised. She is a Lorraine Lee Linen consultant and the charity that company supports is Kids with Cancer. Unfortunately not too many people attended, but a great night was had by all and a nice sum of money was raised.
I was asked to be the front ticket person so was sitting down by the front door at a little table by myself (my favorite position - by myself, haha) so I did the Trivia Quiz by myself. I called myself "The Loner" so I was easily recognizable. I came 2nd to last, so I didn't think that I did too bad a job.
Anyway, I made some card packs for Kirsty to auction off on the night and I thought I would share them with you.

This is one pack I made, giving credit for pattern to Tracey Old from NZ. I enlarged the pattern so that it would fit A5 cards. I used the watercolor technique on my roses to make them shades of blue. One lot of dsp is from the Bella Bleu pack and the dotty one is one I found in my local shop.
Stamp sets used are Fifth Avenue Floral, Congrats and Oval Alls.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog.

Have a great day or night where ever you may be. Until tomorrow.

Gift Basket

This was another fantastic project provided for us at UStamp with Dawn and Friends by Tracey Old, the New Zealand Dream Team member.
The ribbons took absolutely ages to work out and place, but I think that it was worth the time and effort.
This is a fantastic little gift basket that you could use for giving a small present or presents in.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my creations and I would also like to thank those that leave lovely, upbuilding comments. They are very much appreciated.

Until next time, have a great day or night where ever you may be!

Home Sweet Birdhouse

Another fantastic project created by Monica Gale for Stamp With Us. Monica is a Stampin' Up demonstrator in the UK and a very lovely lady. Just click on her name to be taken straight to her blog or on the left hand side to be taken to the Stamp With Us website.
Any little birdie would love to have such a brand new birdhouse to nest in. This one even comes complete with little cards and envelopes. I really enjoyed making this one.
Unfortunately this round of Stamp With Us is over (all too quickly I might add) so we are looking forward to the next round and I will supply details when I know anything.

Recipe - Baja Breeze for house, Chocolate Chip for roof. Scallop circle punch and circle punches. Stamp sets - Thoughts and Prayers, French Flair B/ground stamp for flying birds. And a lovely blue ribbons ties it all together.

Thanks for looking and have a nice day or night where ever you may be!

From Handbags and Gladrags to Suitcases

This little suitcase is one of the projects on the latest round of Stamp With Us. I don't know how the girls keep coming up with all these fantastic ideas. Made primarily of different shades of purple cardstock and double lined inside (will take photo of that another time) this is the essential travel case for any little or big girl. They can place their shoes and handbag, made last week, in there for safe storage.
I don't know if you can make out the purple heart brads in the centre of 3 lots of flowers but I thought they finished the flowers off nicely.
I enjoyed making this project although it took me hours to do.

Until next time, have a great day or night where ever you are!

Handbags and Gladrags

As you may or may not know the second round of Stamp with Us has started. Pictured is the first project that Monica posted for us. Aren't they cute!

Any little girl would love to have their own stylish high heeled shoe filled with lollies, with handbag card to match. These would be great for any little girls party. (Some big girls may even like their own)

The flower on the front of the shoe is demonstrated on video at the above mentioned site, and the purple sequins on both the shoe and handbag finish the project off nicely.
You too can join in the fun at Stamp With Us.

Love to read the lovely comments that are left on my blog. Thank you to those who do take the time!

So once again, have a great day or night where ever you may be!

Stamp with Us - Sketch Challenge

Here is this weeks challenge over at Stamp with Us. I hope you like what I came up with!
I used the stamp from Friends 24/7 and colored the different aspects of the stamp with my markers - Real Red, Choc Chip and Certainly Celery.
I used Whisper White and Real Red cardstock along with a beautiful paper from Graphic 45 called Secret Garden from the Botanicalbella Collection.

Hello to all those lovely Stampin' Up sisters who are attending their convention in Utah, USA this week. Hope you all are having a great time.
As for the rest of us, enjoy you day or night where ever you may be!

Stamp with Us Recipe Challenge

I know what your thinking. 2 posts in 1 day. Well, for the next two days I am working, and besides that I wanted to post my card for the recipe challenge over at Stamp With Us. By the way, for those who may be interested, the girls over there are starting their 2nd round of fun and projects on August 1st. Would love to see you there.
Now for the important bit - for this challenge we had to use
2 x Patterned Papers,1 x Ribbon and 1 x Piece of Hardware.
I used Rose Red for the base and Close to Cocoa. My 2 patterned papers are from a retired lot called Berry Bliss. If you have had a chance to peruse my blog you will see that I made my Origami Box below in the same colors. My ribbon is also retired, unfortunately, it being the Purely Pomegranate 1" satin, and my hardware is the flower buckle. I also added 2 watercolor flowers from the Fifth Urban Floral stamp set. I was pleased with the overall effect. Hope you like it too.
Have a great day or night where ever you may be.

Slider Box with Cards

Today I have another project from UStamp with Dawn and Friends. Once again a project by Jenny Moors. This slider box with matching cards is so cute.
The colors I have used are Taken with Teal, Night of Navy, So Saffron and Very Vanilla. The DSP is called Bella Bleu. My butterflies are a new acquisition from Gel-a-tins called Butterflies are Free. I clear embossed the butterflies in Night of Navy and colored them in using my Stampin' Up Markers in a variety of colors.

Origami Box

I know, twice in 2 days, how can I manage that! I have another great project from UStamp with Dawn and friends to show you. This is my version of the origami box that was presented by Jenny Moors, the Dream Team Member from the UK. (Check our her blog, she is a very talented lady).

I used Stampin' Up's Rose Red cardstock with the Berry Bliss DSP. The ribbon is Purely Pomegranate Satin which goes so well with this project. My "marigold" on top was cut with my Cricut Expressions machine using the Sure Cuts A Lot program and the lovely 3D Flowers SVG Kit. I alternated the petals using Rose Red and Pink Pirouette cardstock. The leaves were cut in Old Olive.
Here's what it looks like open -

Thanks for checking in. I hope you like my creation.

Have a great day or night where ever you may be!
